The mean is the total of the numbers, divided by how many numbers there are. For example:
1 + 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 = 21 | 21 divided by 5 = 4.2
The median is the middle number of a sorted list of numbers. For example:
Counting from each end of the sequence, the middle number is 4.
